On 25-06-2026, Smti Nilima Devi, Hon'ble Guardian Minister of Bajali District held a Flood Preparedness Review Meeting of Bajali District in august presence of Hon'ble MLA 26-Bajali LAC, District Commissioner Bajali and other Heads of Departments under Bajali District.Apart from the Flood Preparedness Review, an overall review of major departments was conducted by the Hon'ble Guardian Minister in order to ensure holistic development of Bajali District.
An awareness programme on the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026 was conducted by various Gaon Panchayats under Bajali District to promote proper waste management and environmental cleanliness. The programme witnessed the active participation of PRI members, local citizens, and community stakeholders. Participants were sensitized on waste segregation, scientific disposal of solid waste, reduction of plastic waste, and the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The initiative aimed to encourage community participation and strengthen the effective implementation of the SWM Rules, 2026 at the grassroots level.
Inter-Ministerial Central Team Reviews Flood Damage in Bajali District
An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) from the Government of India visited Bajali District on July 11, 2026, to assess the damage caused by recent floods.
During the visit, the central team conducted a detailed review of the damages across the district, while also evaluating the emergency response and relief measures deployed by the district administration. To gain firsthand insight into the ground reality, the team inspected heavily affected sites, including the breached sections at Muguria, the damaged Hathinapur-Rajakhat-Barsimla road, and the flood-hit areas of Bagana.The high-level visit underscores the central government's commitment to supporting state and district authorities in accelerating recovery efforts. The detailed assessment compiled by the IMCT will serve as the foundation for allocating critical financial aid and long-term rehabilitation funds to restore normalcy in Bajali
